Licensing
Out
Whether a university, government entity, or a corporation:
organizations that develop technology need a strategy
for its commercialization. For some technologies,
the business plan is to build a product and sell
it. For others, it may make more sense to lease a
product or use a new device to perform a service.
The organization that developed the technology may
not be the best to exploit it. For example, an oil
production company may develop a tool that it needs
in its operations, but it is not in the business
of selling tools or providing services to other production
companies. In such case, a joint
venture may be started
or the technology may be licensed.
Developing a technology
commercialization plan requires consultant lawyers
with experience in business, licensing, litigation,
and application work. Arnold & Knobloch
has that experience. Contact
