Technology
Transfer
Technology transfer requires
a strategy. The commercialization plan may be different
for a university than it would be for a government
entity, a corporation, or another organization that
develops technology. For some technologies, the business
plan is to build a product and sell it. For others,
it may make more sense to lease a product or use
a new device to perform a service. In other cases,
the organization that developed the technology may
not be the best to exploit it. For example, an oil
production company may develop a tool it needs in
its operations, but it is not in the business of
selling tools or providing services for other production
companies. In that case, a joint
venture is
started or an existing organization may be interested
in licensing the technology.
Developing a technology
transfer plan requires consultant lawyers with experience
in business, licensing, litigation, and application
work. Arnold & Knobloch has that
experience. Contact us to see what we can do for
